Yamaguchi walked EVO without dropping a set. Paris won’t be that kind.

Three days before I wrote this, MenaRD went out of EVO 2026 in 65th. Sixty-fifth, out of 2,416 players, in Las Vegas on 28 June. This is the man who took EVO Japan 2024, EVO Japan 2025 and EVO Las Vegas 2025 in the same historic double season. A pre-tournament favourite. Home by Saturday.

Yamaguchi (ZETA gaming, Japan) did the opposite. He ran the entire winners bracket without dropping a set and beat Punk in the grand final. The cleanest possible run, and exactly the kind of run that makes a bookmaker shorten your price for the next event before you have proven you can do it twice.

Here is the take, and I will back it with my own money at Paris. The outright market is about to misread both of them. Yamaguchi gets overbet on EVO momentum. MenaRD gets written off on one bad afternoon. And the Esports World Cup is a different animal to EVO: 32 seeded players rather than a 2,400-entrant open, double-elimination, best-of-five, settled over two days. A hot EVO bracket tells you less about that format than the price swing suggests.

The player it tells you most about is neither of them. It is Xiao Hai (Zeng Zhuojun, Team Falcons, China), the two-time defending Esports World Cup champion. He beat Kawano in the 2024 final and Blaz in the 2025 final, and he lands in Paris chasing a three-peat nobody in the modern SF6 era has managed. Over a million dollars in career fighting-game earnings. When the crown is on the line, he is still the best in the world. That is the anchor the whole card should price around, and often it does not quite.

So this is a page about where the SERP is slow. Every read below comes from comparing the same markets across GG.BET, Thunderpick, Betway and TonyBet through EVO Las Vegas. The deposit and payout times further down are taken from the operators’ published terms and documented user reports, not lifted off a marketing page. If you want the best Street Fighter betting sites for Paris, start with who actually prices the thing properly. Four books do. I will show you what each is for.

Eight seeds, one Paris bracket, and where the outright value hides

My top-eight read for Paris, locked as of 1 July off the Las Vegas form. Precise outright prices depend on each book’s opening line and will drift as the 32 firms up, so the numbers below are indicative of the sharpness gap I expect rather than a live quote. Check your own operator before you stake.

Where I am actually putting money right now. Xiao Hai to reach the final at 2.10 or better, which is the three-peat play and the safest read on the board. Yamaguchi outright at around 5.00, a mid-tier price on a fresh EVO winner with real momentum. Tokido top-8 at around 3.00. And the one I feel most strongly about: lay MenaRD’s outright and take his top-8 finish prop at 2.10 or better instead. He is too good to miss the bracket entirely and too shaken to win it outright. The gap between those two prices is the bet.

These are my picks, not settled facts. Odds move, and this early they move fast. Take them before the field figures itself out.

The Paris weekend, phase by phase, and the markets each one opens

Street Fighter 6 at the Esports World Cup runs 29 July to 1 August in Paris. A million-dollar prize pool, 32 players, double-elimination, best-of-five all the way. Group Stage 1 splits the 32 into four groups of eight and the top four from each advance. Group Stage 2 folds the 16 into two groups of eight, top four from each into the Playoffs. It is the flagship of the Capcom Pro Tour’s 13th season, and it sits inside a wider EWC festival that runs 6 July to 23 August across 25 competitions for a combined $75,000,000, the largest prize distribution organised esports has ever staged.

You do not bet all of that the same way. A fighting game is one player against one player, and different phases open different markets. Here is where each type actually lives.

Pre-tournament outrights (through July)

Outright winner, top-4, top-8, top-16 finish. GG.BET, Betway and Thunderpick carry these before a single match is played. The outright is Xiao Hai’s to lose. The value is a rung down: a top-4 on a live-dog seed, a top-8 on a name the market has parked too long, like Tokido at 3.00 or shorter.

Set markets (during Paris)

Set winner over the best-of-five, correct set score at 3-0, 3-1 or 3-2, and set handicap. All four books price the set winner. GG.BET and Thunderpick run the correct-score menu, and that is where the Drive Gauge read pays: when one player is dominating the meter, 3-1 is often the sharp line, priced barely off a coin-flip 3-2.

Character and Drive-System props

Character pick per set, Drive Impact win, first Burnout trigger. GG.BET runs character-pick markets on the biggest events; Thunderpick opens Drive-System props on selected sets. Thin menus, but the softest prices on the page, because almost nobody models them.

Round-level props

Perfect round, first-hit, first-round winner. Thunderpick only, and only on the marquee fights. Rare, small, and occasionally free money if you have watched the pair play recently.

Read the meter: the Drive Gauge is the edge nobody prices

Every Street Fighter 6 character carries six bars of Drive Gauge, and how they spend it across a round decides more sets than the character on paper does. A player who manages the meter fluently beats a mechanically stronger player who does not. Watch game one’s gauge management and you have your read for the whole set.

Take the mechanics in order of what they cost. Drive Impact is one bar, an armored wall-carry that aggressive mains fish for to close rounds in the corner. On GG.BET and Thunderpick the Drive Impact win prop is priced off almost nothing, so if you have watched a player hunt corner carries all week, it is the softest line on their set. Drive Rush is the pressure tool, one to three bars of cancel-into-dash that Ken, Cammy and Blaz live on and Guile, Dhalsim and Manon barely touch. Count the cancels in game one of a Ken-versus-Guile set: if the Ken is not landing that pressure by round three, take Guile, and take him before the book catches up.

Drive Reversal costs two bars to buy a turn back on defence, and it quietly drains the meter toward zero, which is the part live prices miss. A player mashing Reversal to survive early is a player about to be in Burnout when it matters. Drive Parry is the only move that refills the tank, so the patient neutral players who lean on it rarely see Burnout at all. That marks the grind-it-out styles that hold up over a best-of-five.

Two edges sit on top of all that. Burnout timing is the first. In tracked pro data, the player who forces the first Burnout of a round wins it 62 percent of the time, and no book prices Burnout state, so a player who triggers it twice across three games is a back-to-win-the-set at any moneyline near parity. The correct-set-score line is the second. GG.BET prices a 3-1 close at odds barely off a 3-2, so when one player owns the meter economy, 3-1 is the side. That is the single most repeatable edge I have found on Street Fighter, and it comes off watching bars empty, not off a tier list.

Season 2 rewired the tier list, and the styles that exploit it

Season 2 dropped four DLC characters into SF6 across late 2025 and early 2026: Terry Bogard, Mai Shiranui, Elena and M. Bison. Each moved the meta, and the books have been slow to keep up with all four.

Terry is the biggest mover. His Buster Wolf super punishes from mid-range with almost no commitment, and the players who genuinely invested in him, iDom the standard-bearer, are posting top-8s at Premiers. The ones who dabbled dropped him inside a month. Mai rewards tight neutral and rushdown, a steeper curve than Terry, so fewer pros picked her up and her pro-level matchup data is thin. That thinness is the tell: books misprice Mai matchups more often than any other Season 2 pick right now. Elena is a mid-tier zoner living mostly in the amateur scene and rarely troubles a pro bracket. Bison is the wildcard, a returning boss with heavy nostalgia and modest adoption, played as a mid-range grappler with Psycho Power specials that nobody has quite settled on how to price.

The market that pays off all this is character pick per set on GG.BET, which prices the base character. When a player like iDom locks Terry in game one then reaches for a Ken pocket in game two, that market swings 15 to 20 percentage points. A confirmed Terry lock against a Ken player alone moves the moneyline about five points. Read the Group Stage locks, project the Playoff mains, and take the character-pick line before the field does.

Style travels by region too, and generic pricing flattens it. Japan is the deepest pool and the freshly crowned one: Yamaguchi on Ken, Kakeru right behind, Nauman bringing Rashid. Patient neutral, committal punishes, Drive Rush stacked late. Take the all-Japan sets on the 3-2 correct score. The USA is Punk and iDom, aggressive, leaning on Drive Impact wall-carries, so a USA-versus-Japan set is a total-rounds-over. The Dominican Republic is MenaRD alone, and I have said my piece: lay the outright, take the top-8 prop at 2.10 or better. Korea runs through EndingWalker on a quietly strong Season 2 Chun-Li plus Leshar, the DRX man and EVO France 2025 champion; Korean top-16 finishes at 4.00 or better are live. Europe rallies around France’s own Kilzyou with a real home-crowd bump that matters more in a one-on-one game than in team esports, worth a top-16 flutter rather than an outright. And keep small money on a LATAM or UAE name like Big Bird for a top-16 at 5.00 or better; that tier reaches the last 16 more often than the board expects.

The four books that actually price Capcom Pro Tour, honestly reviewed
